Why
The Recycle Regatta is working towards
improving the lives of our young people
We have a BIG GOAL!
Provide TEEN Mental Health First Aid to EVERY
secondary school student in the Bayside area
Teaching high school students in Years 7-9 and 10-12, how to provide mental health first aid to their friends.
The 3.5-hour Teen MHFA Course teaches high school students in Years 7-9 & 10-12 how to provide mental health first aid to their friends.
The course was developed in response to research indicating that young people have a preference for sharing problems with peers.
46% of Secondary School children in Bayside can’t talk about things that upset them; 40% criticise themselves for what is happening, and 33% feel nervous or anxious. These are the precursors of mental ill-health and we need to address them urgently.
